WWE News: Matt Hardy and Ed Nordholm bury the hatchet
What's the story?
"Woken" Matt Hardy dropped a bombshell on Twitter Wednesday morning when he posted a new photo of himself and Executive Vice President of Anthem Sports (who own Impact Wrestling) Ed Nordholm. Take a look at the tweet below:
In case you didn't know...
Matt wrestled for Impact Wrestling for a few months in 2011 as well as from 2014 to 2017. In May of 2016, Matt started to develop the "broken condition" that help to reinvent his career.
Within Impact Wrestling, Matt would win the tag championships twice with his brother Jeff, and he would also hold the Impact World Heavyweight Championship on two occasions.
The heart of the matter...
The feud between the Hardy's and Nordholm over the broken gimmick was very public as it played out over social media, mainly Twitter. Last month, Nordholm publicly stated in a conference call for the media that he would allow current and past talent of Impact Wrestling to use their gimmicks with other promotions, including the Broken Hardy persona.
Nordholm's change of heart may have prompted an in-person meeting to bury the hatchet, but at the time of this writing, it was not confirmed when and where the photo was taken.
Matt's wife Reby Hardy was the most outspoken in the entire saga and would let her feelings be known on Twitter quite often. She would also post on Twitter Wednesday afternoon confirming that she was the one who set up the meeting.
What's next?
"Woken" Matt Hardy is currently in a feud with Bray Wyatt. At the time of this writing, it is unknown if their upcoming match will be on the Royal Rumble card. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for further updates on this potential match.
Author's take...
As much as Nordholm and Anthem angered me over the whole Broken Hardy situation, I'm more than happy to see that they buried the hatchet. I was completely shocked to learn that Reby spearheaded the meeting, and it was the right thing to do for all parties involved.
Now Matt, Reby, Ed, and everyone else involved in the saga can move on and close that chapter.
