What’s the story?

WWE has sent another survey questioning fans’ interest in seeing non-WWE wrestling shows on the network and Matt Hardy was delighted to hear that fans might be able to see his work from Impact Wrestling on the WWE Network.

In case you didn’t know...

The Hardy Boyz created the “Broken” Gimmick in 2016, and it quickly became the biggest act in Impact Wrestling. However, the former WWE Tag Team Champions haven't been able to secure the rights to use their Broken avatars in WWE.

The Hardy Boyz continued to use the “Broken” Gimmick before they returned to WWE but were met with an injunction from Anthem Sports. The Hardy family and Impact Wrestling have been at odds since their departure and the two have been squabbling over the ownership of the "Broken" Gimmick.

The heart of the matter

The latest survey from WWE asked fans what new programming they would be interested in seeing including other wrestling shows like ROH, NJPW, and Impact Wrestling.

Hardy responded on twitter saying that it would be “WONDERFUL” if the fans got a chance to see The Final Deletion or Delete or Decay on the WWE Network.

The survey also asked fans if they would be interesting in call-in shows, special live events, the revival of ECW, an audio-only channel and other content.

What’s next?

Impact Wrestling’s been facing branding issues since Jeff Jarrett’s departure, and the company has now stopped using the name Global Force Wrestling.

There have also been rumours circulating that Anthem Sports was looking to get out of the wrestling business, so any further issues with Impact could lead to a possible sale of their tape library.

Author’s take

WWE has sent out surveys asking these same questions before and nothing ever came of it.

However, if the WWE goes through with some of these survey topics it could vastly improve the WWE Network by offering an even greater variety of content.
