WWE News: Undertaker’s wife, Michelle McCool comments on recent photos
What’s the story?
Former WWE wrestler and wife of The Undertaker, took to Instagram to discuss some of the photos that surfaced visiting the David H Kock Pavilion Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
The belief is that The Undertaker went to the hospital regarding a needed hip replacement surgery.
In case you didn’t know...
Prior to The Undertaker’s return to TV, photos of The Deadman on crutches surfaced, causing many fans to speculate about his health.
Heading into WrestleMania 33, rumours surfaced regarding The Undertaker needing hip replacement surgery. Many fans took notice of The Undertaker’s awkward stance in the ring and some of the grimaces on his face and thought that he was not well.
The Undertaker lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania and retired with a record of 23-2 after leaving his coat, gloves, and hat in the centre of the ring.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that The Undertaker would go through a few surgical procedures following his retirement at WrestleMania.
The heart of the matter
Michelle McCool posted the following on Instagram regarding The Undertaker and herself leaving the Hospital.
Hmmmm....at least I had a good hair day (for me)! #myheart
Hip replacement surgery requires extensive physical therapy, as well as avoiding activities like squatting and twisting the leg; common occurrences in professional wrestling. The following is information from WebMD regarding what patients recovering from hip surgery must avoid:
“For anywhere from six to 12 months after hip replacement surgery, pivoting or twisting on the involved leg should be avoided. You should also not cross the involved leg past the midline of the body nor turn the involved leg inward and you should not bend at the hip past 90 degrees. This includes both bending forward at the waist and squatting.”
What’s next?
With The Undertaker’s professional wrestling career behind him, nothing is standing in the way of his surgery and recovery after a long and physical career. Hopefully, the next time we see The Undertaker is when he takes his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Author’s take
It’s great to hear that The Undertaker is taking care of himself after his career has come to an end. The Deadman spent more than 25 years working through pain and various injuries, so we hope he can enjoy a more than well-deserved rest and recovery.
Thank You, Taker.
