WWE News: Mick Foley to release a memoir
WWE Monday Night RAW general manager Mick Foley has been in the thick of things ever since the brand split. Foley has taken charge of the red brand and has been doing a good job at it. On some occasions, he has even superseded Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and gone on to book exciting matches.
The Holy Foley star revealed that he was working on a new memoir. This memoir will be about his experience as a “Santa ambassador” and is set for release next year. Foley revealed prior to the WWE Network exclusive reality show Holy Foley, that he was a Christmas enthusiast. He had a room all to himself that he decorated all year round and filled with Christmas trees, lights, wreaths and stockings. The memoir is also expected to be along the same theme with joyful Christmas vibes.
Foley said in a Facebook post that he has been working on this new memoir that will reflect his experiences in the red suit as one of Santa’s ambassadors. He pointed out that is was a fun and rewarding project, being written only in places where the Christmas spirit lives all year round.
He distinguished this project from his past books saying that this was not about airplanes, locker rooms, hotels or emergency rooms. It was about the simple places like Jefferson, New Hampshire’s “Santa’s Village”. He said that was the place where he penned some passages while sitting in one of the original 1953 rocking chairs from when the park opened.
Foley said that while on the road to Indianapolis for RAW’s first exclusive pay per view Clash of Champions, he made his way to the Santa Claus Indiana township. He went to the 1935 landmark, Santa’s Candy Castle which is believed to be America’s oldest themed attraction and quickly wrote down some paragraphs. It is the same spot where Santa Claus greeted guests at Holiday World when the theme park was opened to the public about 70 years ago.
Foley also mentioned that he was aware of the fact that this project would not be a big seller by any means. He said that he was doing it because it was fun for him. He said that it was important to him and he wanted to do it. He made it clear that there would be no controversy about the book.
This is what Foley posted on Facebook:
“I have been working on a new memoir about my experiences in the red suit as one of Santa’s ambassadors. It’s been a fun and rewarding project, being written only in places where Christmas spirit lives all year round. So, unlike past books, I’m not writing on airplanes, locker rooms, hotels or emergency rooms. Just places like Jefferson, New Hampshire’s “Santa’s Village”, where I did some writing in Santa’s house in the original 1953 rocking chairs from the park’s opening.
“This past week, I made it to Indianapolis for #ClashOfChampions by way of #SantaClaus Indiana, where I wrote from #SantasCandyCastle the 1935 landmark believed to be America’s oldest themed attraction, and from the very spot where Santa Claus first greeted guests at #HolidayWorld originally known as #SantaClausLand when the park opened 70 years ago.
“I am not under the impression that this is going to be a big seller by any means – so it’s something I’m doing just for fun, because it is important to me. It’s not going to be controversial. I won’t be slinging any dirt or making anybody look bad . But there will be a surprising amount of wrestling in this book – as everything I have learned in life revolves around sports entertainment.”
