WWE News: Miz suffers leg injury, Del Rio removed from Live Events
It looks as though the powers that be are determined to rain on WrestleMania 32. While Roman Reigns haters would be gleeful at the prospect, the rest of the show could be stricken if this persists.
What we’re referring to is the bane of the WWE for the past few months; the injury curse. After claiming a handful of main-eventers, it seems as though the blight is not sated. Its latest reported victims are the Miz and Alberto Del Rio.
One of the matches at the recent WWE Live Event at Richmond, Virginia saw the Miz facing Jack Swagger, according to wrestlinginc.com. The former picked up the win via pinfall only to be punished with the Patriot Lock, after which the Miz looked like he suffered a genuine injury and was seen limping off to the locker room.
It is unknown if he was hurt by the manoeuvre, but one tweet read “Miz broke something”. There is no update yet on the severity of the injury, but if grave, it remains to be seen the six-man Intercontinental Championship match will play out, with would-be challenger Neville already amongst the casualties due to a broken ankle.
The injury woes don’t end there. Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio was pulled from the Live Event at Madison Square Garden after he was missing on SmackDown this past week. The culprit is a back injury he suffered after a German Suplex from Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble, according to allwrestlingnews.com. If grave, it doesn’t need saying that it could endanger the New Day-League Of Nations tag titles match at WrestleMania.
