News on Vince McMahon Biopic

What's the story?

There are some new developments regarding the Vince McMahon biopic, Pandemonium.

The biggest piece of news according to PWinsider.com is that Bradley Cooper, the big Hollywood name being linked with playing the part of Vince McMahon in the film, wants to see a newer version of the screenplay before deciding whether or not to take up the role of playing the WWE Chairman.

In case you didn't know...

Back in April of this year, there were rumours that a biopic titled Pandemonium about the life of Vince McMahon was in the works.

Craig A. Williams wrote the movie's script back in 2015 which has been edited and drafted many times since. Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are the film's directors, whilst Andrew Lazar, who produced American Sniper, is producing it, along with WWE Studios President, Michael Luisi, and Adam Goldman of Aperture's Entertainment.

Last week, it was reported that the star of The Hangover trilogy, Bradley Cooper, was being lined up as the actor to be Vince McMahon in the movie.

The heart of the matter

As noted, the first bit of new information about the film is that Cooper is being shown an updated screenplay of the biopic soon and if he likes it, he could accept the role of playing Vince McMahon in Pandemonium.

The report also states that once casting and the script is in place, the filming of the biopic should begin in Spring 2018.

What's next?

It is feared that WWE Studios being involved with Pandemonium may give the McMahon family too much of a say on the film, especially in regards to getting rid of anything that may make them look bad.

Hopefully, Cooper will like what he sees and accepts the part. It would be pretty impressive if filming was to begin as soon as Spring 2018 though.

Author's take

Bradley Cooper is an A-List star in my opinion, and if he chooses to be in the film, I feel it would give Pandemonium the legitimacy and respect it needs. I truly can't wait to see Vince McMahon's life story on the big screen, but with filming not even started yet, I think we could be waiting a good while to see it.
