WWE News: Mustafa Ali reacts to Kofi Kingston getting the spot that was meant for him
What's the story?
SmackDown Superstar Mustafa Ali has posted a tweet, sharing his opinion on Kofi Kingston getting the opportunity that was originally meant for him.
Ali had lost out on the opportunity after getting injured at the last moment, leading to Kofi getting his spot in the Elimination Chamber.
In case you didn't know...
This past month, Mustafa Ali was set to compete in the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Title. The former 205 Live Superstar suffered an injury before the gauntlet match on the go home show of SmackDown Live.
Kofi Kingston was hand-picked as the replacement for Ali, and ended up giving the performance of a lifetime, spending almost an hour inside the squared circle.
This was followed by another exceptional performance inside the Chamber, with the sea of fans starting to get behind Kingston.
Currently, Kofi Kingston is the cornerstone of a major underdog storyline that is bound to culminate with a WWE Title match at The Grandest Stage Of Them All. Kingston was screwed over by Vince McMahon on last night's SmackDown Live, leaving The New Day to ponder on the idea of quitting WWE.
The heart of the matter
Mustafa Ali took to Twitter, posting a screenshot of a news piece featuring Kofi Kingston's views on him getting Mustafa's opportunity.
Ali added that this wasn't an accident, but destiny, stating that Kofi has worked hard for this and he has earned the opportunity.
What's next?
With WrestleMania just around the corner, Kofi Kingston's underdog storyline is bound to see a payoff soon. The upcoming episode of SmackDown Live might end up with Kofi somehow bagging the spot in the WWE Title match against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania.
As for Ali, he is still a young guy with tons of promise. With the sheer amount of talent that he possesses, he is sure to get his shot at glory somewhere down the line.
