WWE News: New betting favourite for men’s Royal Rumble revealed
What’s the story?
As seen on Paddy Power, the 2018 Royal Rumble match has a new favourite – and his name is Shinsuke Nakamura.
In case you didn’t know
The pendulum has been swinging back and forth when it comes to the leading contender for the Rumble, and after months of Reigns and Cena being at the top of the pile, the two poster boys of the WWE have been knocked off of the top spot in the betting odds.
Heart of the matter
Shinsuke Nakamura is now the 7/5 favourite to book his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania, with Roman Reigns just behind at 9/4 and Cena down in third at 4/1. The two men rounding out the top five are Dolph Ziggler at 5/1, and Finn Balor at 7/1.
What’s next?
As the days go by on the Road to the Rumble, we’ll continue to see many twists and turns before the actual match gets underway on January 28th.
Author’s take
While this doesn’t exactly confirm that The King of Strong Style is going to walk away with the Rumble win in Philadelphia, it does show that many people are backing him to get the job done. Paddy Power is extremely reliable when it comes to this kind of thing and while the odds will likely shift again as we get closer to the Rumble, Nakamura is the top dog right now.
