WWE News: New Day learns how to play cricket with Special Olympics Bharat athletes
What's the story?
The New Day is in India as part of the first-ever tryouts conducted in the country and they are having an absolute blast. Close on the heels of them meeting their fans at Hamleys in Mumbai, the trio played cricket with Special Olympics Bharat athletes.
In case you didn't know...
The New Day has been the subject of discussion for the WWE Universe owing to what has been described as KofiMania. The veteran has captured the imagination of the WWE Universe and Kingston's fans have been spurring him on to become the WWE Champion since he replaced Mustafa Ali at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
However, Kofi Kingston and the rest of The New Day have taken a break from the madness to visit India and be part of the first-ever tryouts conducted in the country. 60 men and 20 women are in the fray to become the next WWE Superstar.
They also caught up with me for an interview, and I shall link you to it as soon as I can.
The heart of the matter
Anyone that has watched WWE for any length of time knows that they do as much outside the ring as they do between the ropes. This time, they joined the athletes from Special Olympics Bharat to engage in India's favourite pastime activity- cricket.
As a spectator, it was obvious from the very outset that they did not know much about the rules, but that did not stop the trio from having a ball. It was especially hilarious to watch Big E gyrating his hips as he assumed a batting stance.
What's next?
New Day will miss SmackDown Live this week, but they're in India to create history and inspire future generations to follow in their footsteps and become WWE superstars. They should be back in time for WWE Fastlane. KofiMania is far from done, right now.
WWE Raw, SmackDown and special events are telecast live and exclusive on SONY TEN 1 and SONY TEN 3 channels. Special thanks to Avirath Kadam for the photographs embedded.
