WWE News: Nia Jax nearly kills Charlotte twice in the same match
What’s the story?
Nia Jax botched a couple of manoeuvres in her match against Charlotte on Monday Night RAW’s most recent episode (4/10/17). The first of the two aforementioned moves was a Shoulder Breaker that she executed on her opponent, dinging Charlotte’s head into her right knee in the process. Charlotte seemed to be legitimately dazed as a result, albeit for a few seconds.
The second failed manoeuvre came moments before the end of the match when Charlotte attempted her trademark Moonsault off of the top rope towards Jax, who was outside the ring. Jax failed to catch her on the attempted move which in turn led to Charlotte landing with maximum impact on the canvas.
In case you didn’t know...
Nia Jax (Savelina Fanene) has been training as a professional wrestler for less than three years. She made her main card debut last year and has been under constant scrutiny ever since owing to her relative inexperience as a performer.
The heart of the matter:
In what’s being heralded by fans as an incident that’s genuinely baffling and scary in equal measures, the 6’0” 270 pound Nia Jax is said to have narrowly escaped from legitimately breaking her opponent’s neck or at the very least causing a concussion. The first accident occurs at the 10-seond mark in the video.

Furthermore, the WWE Superstar failed once again, in the very same matchup, when she failed to catch an attempted Moonsault, leading to Charlotte crashing head-first into the floor outside the ring. The head-to-floor contact occurs at the 20-second mark. The following YouTube video features the highlights of the aforementioned matchup, including the accidents:
No reports of Charlotte being injured in the incident have been confirmed as of yet.
What’s next?
Jax defeated Flair via pinfall in the aforementioned matchup on Monday Night RAW and re-appeared on the show, later on, attacking Mickie James, Sasha Banks and Bayley. She is rumoured to be the next challenger for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship, however, instead of her series of potentially fatal botches against Charlotte, her chance at a title shot hangs in jeopardy for the time being.
Author’s take:
Now, I know that Jax is relatively green when compared to her fellow performers such as Sasha Banks, Mickie James, Becky Lynch and of course, Charlotte Flair. Nevertheless, this level of recklessness may not go down well with WWE management.
Anyway, what’s more concerning is that Jax’s inexperience could legitimately hurt her co-performers in the ring and thankfully, tonight that wasn’t the case. Big props to Charlotte for covering up her opponent’s errors, and putting on an excellent performance like she always does.
