WWE News: Nia Jax explains why she attacked Alexa Bliss

The time has come for Nia to take matters into her own hands
The time has come for Nia to take matters into her own hands

What's the story?

Nia Jax attacked new RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss at the end of the show last night because she was tired of waiting. Jax stated that the time had come for her to make her own opportunities.

In case you didn't know...

On last night's episode of WWE RAW, the hot potato that is the flagship show's women's championship passed hands once again. At SummerSlam, Sasha Banks won the championship for the fourth time, and eight days later, she once again managed to lose it without ever successfully defending it.

Alexa Bliss defeated 'The Boss' for her second RAW Women's Championship last night, but her celebrations were cut short when her best friend Nia Jax hit her with the Electric Chair. The show ended with Nia Jax posing with the RAW Women's Championship.

The heart of the matter

In an exclusive backstage interview following RAW last night, Nia Jax was asked by Mike Rome exactly what the reasoning behind the attack was. Jax's response was quick and to the point;

"Let's just say I'm tired of waiting. I'm going to make my own opportunities"

It couldn't get any clearer than that. For weeks and weeks, Alexa Bliss had dodged Nia Jax, using the friendship between the two and promises of future championship matches to keep Nia away from chasing Bliss' title.

It seems as though Nia Jax has had enough, however, and will now turn her focus to her former best friend and the gold she carries around her waist.

What's next?

With Bayley injured and Sasha Banks seemingly acting as a transitional champion once again, it is clear that the next WWE RAW Women's Championship feud will be between Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax.

Many fans have expected Nia to be involved in the championship picture for the majority of 2017, but WWE has seemed somewhat reluctant to introduce her there just yet. The time has come.

Alexa Bliss will surely respond to Nia next week on RAW, as the feud between the two begins to grow.

Author's take

WWE sure has made a mess of the RAW women's division, hasn't it? For reasons that aren't entirely clear to me, Sasha Banks is once again used as a disposable transitional champion as opposed to the top performer in the division.

The creative team has destroyed Bayley, undermined Sasha Banks and turned the criminally underused Emma into a joke. I don't hold out much hope for this next chapter in the division's story.
