WWE News: Noam Dar injured, backstage update on how long he will be out of action
What’s the story?
WWE announced on 205 Live this past Tuesday that Noam Dar suffered an injury the previous night on RAW.
In case you didn’t know...
Noam Dar is currently paired with Alicia Fox, playing her on-screen boyfriend. He is currently embroiled in a feud against former Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann.
Dar made his WWE main roster debut back in November in Glasgow, Scotland, which is an hour from his hometown of Ayr. He came out to a hero’s welcome and eventually turned heel in his feud against Cedric Alexander.
Dar remains one of WWE’s youngest talents, being just 23 years of age. He was also the youngest competitor in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament last year.
Cedric Alexander is another cruiserweight who was injured and is expected to be out for at least 4-5 months.
The heart of the matter
According to the Wrestling Observer, Dar will be examined on Sunday in order to find out how long his recovery period will be. If the injury is for an extended period of time, then his feud with Rich Swann will likely be scrapped.
It is unfortunate timing for Dar as WrestleMania is hardly 3 days away. However, it seems like there haven’t been any plans for the other Cruiserweights for WrestleMania aside from Austin Aries and Neville. Even so, Aries and Neville will be battling it off on the Kickoff show, looking to attract more people to the kickoff show than before.
What’s next?
Noam Dar will look to recover as soon as possible and get back on the road after WrestleMania, i.e, depending on how long his recovery period is. Hopefully, for the young Israeli-Scott, it will be very soon.
Author’s Take
Noam Dar is a great prospective talent and has a long way to go. To be just 23 years old with a big money contract from WWE is a great accomplishment. The sky is the limit for him. He has established his character well and can do so much more, even outside the cruiserweight division.
