WWE News: Official confirmation of WWE Elimination Chamber Rules
What's the story?
Ever since it was announced that this year's Elimination Chamber would host 7 men instead of the usual 6, several fans had voiced their questions online. Would there be an extra pod to house the superstars? Would two superstars have to share a pod? Luckily, their questions were answered on RAW, this week.
It turns out that three men will be starting the match, instead of the usual two. The clarification was provided by the announcers during RAW.
In case you didn't know...
The Elimination Chamber has become a mainstay for WWE over the course of time. This Sunday will be the 8th installment of the pay-per-view, as well as the final stop for RAW, on the road to WrestleMania 34.
The seven men who will compete in the men's Elimination Chamber match are John Cena, Elias, The Miz, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, and of course, the man who's being dubbed the likeliest to win, Roman Reigns.
The heart of the matter
While it does make sense for three men to start off the Elimination Chamber instead of two, at some level, it nullifies the fact that The Miz will be the first man to enter The Chamber. This is because his disadvantage is shared by Number 2 and 3 as well, as all three men will be in the ring at the same time.
The other aspects of the match remain the same, to the best of our knowledge. Every 5 minutes a pod will open and a superstar will emerge forth to enter the mix. The last man standing after everyone has been eliminated wins the match.
What's next?
This Sunday, seven men will battle for a chance to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 for the prestigious Universal Championship.
Author's take
I would personally have preferred an extra pod, instead of three men starting the match for the reason that I've outlined in this very article. However, considering how good the Gauntlet Match was, I'm sure the overall match will deliver.
Can't wait for this Sunday!
