WWE News: Old Footage shows Brock Lesnar throwing the Universal title at Vince McMahon backstage
What's the story?
Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do and nobody can stop him, not even Vince McMahon!
WWE aired another episode of its WWE 24 special and it contained some interesting behind the scenes footage from WrestleMania 34. During the show, the Beast Incarnate was shown throwing the Universal title at Vince McMahon after his match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34.
The incredible footage has naturally gone viral on the interwebs but what's the backstory behind it all?
In case you didn't know...
Lesnar was widely expected to drop the Universal title to Roman Reigns at last year's WrestleMania in what was billed to another crowning moment for the Big Dog.
However, WWE flipped the script and instead booked Lesnar to successfully retain the title in a match that left fans disappointed. The finish of the match was confusing at best and elicited negative reactions from the live audience as well as the fans who took to social media to express their displeasure.
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion also wasn't too pleased either as he vented out his frustrations as soon as he returned backstage after the said match.
The heart of the matter
Lesnar looked absolutely livid as he came to Gorilla position after the match and in a fit of rage, flung the Universal strap towards McMahon who was seated next to Road Dogg. The WWE boss reacted to the Lesnar's surprising outburst by appearing to call him an a**h***.
It should be noted that rumors regarding the aforementioned incident had surfaced immediately after last year's Show of Shows and WWE have finally come out to confirm its authenticity.
Everything that has happened since then makes us believe that Lesnar and McMahon have moved on from the explosive exchange. Lesnar is currently the Universal Champion and successfully defended the title against Finn Balor at the Royal Rumble PPV.
What's next?
Seth Rollins won the 30-man Royal Rumble match and should ideally go on to face Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 on April 7th, 2018 at the Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. He even has the option to go after Daniel Bryan's WWE title but that's highly unlikely to happen.
As for Lesnar, we sincerely hope he doesn't have the title to throw at McMahon after WrestleMania 35.
