WWE News: Online petition started to demilitarize Roman Reigns
A fan named Mike Huck started a petition on Change.org, which is targeted towards WWE Superstar Roman Reigns. The petition states:
Roman Reigns has been systematically breaking the rules of Admiral-Lord Mountevans Unified Rules of Professional Wrestling through the use of illegal body armour to protect himself during the course of matches with legitimately dressed competitors, and has been doing so throughout his career. We require swift action that prohibits the use of this body armour in all future WWE contests by Mr. Reigns and anyone else
The name of the recipients for the petition is really interesting, check them out below:
Vince McMahon
Jack Tunney
Mick Foley
Stephanie McMahon
Barack Obama
Francisco Aguilar
John McCain
Tony Cardenas
Elijah Cummings
The number of people have already signed this petition, which requires a total of 1,500 signatures, is currently 1,214. Mike Huck has also given really hardcore proof as to why Reigns needs to drop his vest.
But, seriously Reigns should drop that vest now. It has been like 3 years since the SHEILD disbanded. Both Rollins and Ambrose have severed their ties with the stable by having their own unique attires, and new entrance theme while Reigns still uses a slightly remixed version of the SHIELD’s theme.
Reigns is already suffering by having a really weak character and underwhelming mic skills. So, the military vest and the unoriginal theme are not helping him out. By giving him some new attire and some new music may bring in some much-needed freshness for his character. Maybe it is because of his constant association with the now-defunct SHIELD is also probably one of the minor factors for people booing him. Also if you’re trying to push him as a complete badass, you probably shouldn’t put a protective vest on him. Thus, showing us just how much protected Roman Reigns is as a Superstar by the WWE.
It’s also quite difficult to understand what his gimmick is based on his appearance. His entrance theme hasn’t changed since his days in The Shield, unlike his ‘brothers’ Ambrose and Rollins, which hasn’t helped his character move on and develop from the silent ass-kicker who was in The Shield.
What do you guys think? Does Roman need a new attire and entrance theme? Let us know your thoughts by writing them in the comments below.
