WWE News: Orlando is looking to get back into the WrestleMania hosting race
What's the story?
Click Orlando is reporting that county officials are preparing to make a bid to get WrestleMania to return to the city for the third time in the future. The Florida city last hosted WrestleMania in 2017 for WrestleMania 33.
In case you didn't know...
Orlando first hosted WrestleMania in 2008 when WrestleMania XXIV took place. At this show, Big Show went up against Floyd Mayweather, along with The Undertaker taking on Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship, and Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair in The Nature Boy's final WWE match.
The heart of the matter
Leaders within Orange County, where Orlando is located, are preparing to vote on a plan to spend $1 million in hopes of bringing 'The Showcase of the Immortals' back to Orlando in either 2023 or 2025.
Sportskeeda reported last week that another Florida city, Tampa Bay, is also looking to host WrestleMania in 2023, 2024, or 2025.
The Orange County officials are estimating the economic effect of hosting a WrestleMania at $150 million. The money for this plan would come from tax dollars earned from tourism.
The event was just in Orlando in 2017 for WrestleMania 33. The card was highlighted by Roman Reigns taking on The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship and the return of Matt and Jeff Hardy to the WWE.
What's next?
Before plans can be made for WrestleMania in the state of Florida again, it shifts up to the northeast when WrestleMania 35 takes place from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday, April 7, 2019.

Bidding for WrestleMania is almost like bidding for the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. The process begins several years in advance with the hopes of bringing this major event where fans from dozens of countries travel to attend.
