WWE News: Paige confirms she'll be at RAW tonight
What’s the story?
Well, the speculation over Paige's potential "forced retirement" just won't go away, but the former NXT Women's Champion has confirmed she will be at RAW tonight via Instagram.
After two rather vague posts on Instagram with one only confirming she was injured, Paige sent out a snap today saying she was on her way to Monday Night RAW.
In case you didn’t know…
Earlier today, Dave Meltzer commented that Paige was "medically disqualified" from wrestling.
This followed Mike Johnson from PW Insider's report on Friday that Paige has been told she will never be cleared to return to the ring.
mpetitor at RAW last week, but all we've heard from the former Divas Champion herself was when she took to Instagram to confirm the injury but didn't even hint at retirement.
With all sorts of speculation buzzing around, everyone has been clamouring to hear from either Paige or WWE on the matter.
No word as yet from WWE, and Paige has only shared two posts on social media, both can be seen below.
The heart of the matter
Well, the two people we want to hear from are Paige and WWE. With Paige on her way to RAW tonight, will WWE give her a platform to speak about the speculation regarding her future?
Paige confirmed on her Instagram story today that she is RAW-bound.
There is a chance WWE my completely ignore all speculation and just have her appear on TV but not physically participate as she did last week when she accompanied Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to the ring for a tag team match.
There is a third option, of course, that she will be at RAW but not appear on the show, however that has to be seen as extremely unlikely given how much momentum this story has gathered.
What's next?
Well, RAW of course. WWE's flagship show is only a matter of hours away and you'd have to think we'll know more on the matter by the end of tonight's show.
With WWE, though, you never know. We may not hear a peep, or we may even hear it before then. I wouldn't bet on either of these options though, as WWE will surely use their biggest platform to address the biggest story in the wrestling world right now.
Author’s take
Well, it's a tense time for Paige fans and wrestling fans everywhere. No-one likes to see someone forced to retire.
I have a bad feeling we may be about to see another retirement speech close out the show. Not exactly the monumental women's wrestling segment you'd hope for just weeks away from the Women's Royal Rumble Match - a match, remember, that Paige is officially still scheduled to participate in.
I hope I'm wrong, but you can bet everyone will have their hearts in their mouths when Paige's theme hits tonight.
