WWE News: Paige explains the meaning behind her tattoos
On the 5th August edition of WWE Superstar Ink hosted by the Former NXT Tag-Team Champion and WWE Culture Shock host, Corey Graves, the former NXT Women’s Champion and WWE Divas Champion, Paige was the episode’s guest.
Corey and Paige talk for the initial few minutes about how they came to know each other, and then the host talks about some tattoos having specific meanings and some “just something silly, that makes you laugh”, in response to which Paige immediately points out the ‘Papi’ tattoo. It was rumored that Paige got the ‘Papi’ tattoo because of her rumored relationship with WWE Superstar, Alberto Del Rio.
After that Corey asks her about the anchor tattoo on her left hand, to which she begins her reply saying that she has a lot of friends who are tattoo artists and painters. And one such painter drew a painting of a boat searching for its anchor, and, hence she got the tattoo of an anchor to signify that she’s still searching for her ‘boat’.
Corey then points out her ‘Mandala’ tattoo on her thumbs about which Paige says that there is no story behind it, and she got it just because it’s a beautiful tattoo.
In the final segment Corey mentions that Paige has a lot of nonsensical tattoos, but the one on her ribs has a really personal reason, and Paige agrees that the tattoo on her ribs does have a personal reason and the tattoo is the opening line of the Johnny Cash song “If you could read my mind, love.” which was the song played at her brother’s funeral. Graves points out by saying that it’s the best way to memorialize her brother.
Thus, by the end of the episode, Paige had revealed the real reason behind her intriguing tattoos.
