WWE News: Paul Heyman picks out the breakout stars in the WWE roster
What's the story?
Paul Heyman was interviewed by Paste Magazine ahead of WrestleMania 34. We thank WrestleZone for the heads up.
During the course of the conversation, Heyman was asked to pick out and identify breakout stars on the current roster. Heyman had high praise for Seth Rollins and The Usos, in addition to Daniel Bryan.
In case you didn't know...
Paul Heyman is considered one of the greatest WWE managers of all time, managing several world champions. He was also the brains behind ECW, a promotion that became an iconic name in wrestling during the 90s, giving birth to several stars.
Currently, Heyman is the advocate for the Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. Heyman will be leading Lesnar into the ring at WrestleMania, where the Beast squares off against Roman Reigns for the industry's top prize.
While Lesnar is almost guaranteed to leave WWE after WrestleMania 34, chances are Paul Heyman will stay back.
The heart of the matter
Heyman had the utmost praise for Seth Rollins, putting him over to a great degree:
Seth Rollins wrestled over an hour on television and put on a performance that, in the tape trading days, would have gotten worldwide acclaim with people checking their mailbox every day waiting for the tape to see the performance that everyone is buzzing about. And I can tell you that this is someone who is driven to deliver that every night if he’s given the platform.
Heyman also put over The Usos to a great degree:
The Usos are an act on Smackdown that I cannot take my attention away from, even for a moment. They are must see. And they’re next at the top of the box office food chain
Additionally, Heyman also had kind words for Daniel Bryan, calling him not merely a nostalgia act, but the real deal.
Who do you think Heyman will manage next?
What's next?
Seth Rollins, The Usos and Daniel Bryan are all involved in big WrestleMania matches. We're certain that they will tear the house down. Maybe one of them will attract Heyman's attention, in due course.
Author's take
I think Seth Rollins is certainly the next big thing. He already has the audience on his side, and will be a big player after WrestleMania is done.
The Usos and Daniel Bryan too don't need me to put them over...they are legends.
