WWE News: Paul Heyman teases the possibility of first Paul Heyman Girl
In the world of sports entertainment, Paul Heyman is known as the greatest manager, possibly of all time. As the current ‘advocate’ for Brock Lesnar, Heyman is the mouthpiece for the beast, selling his matches and making them appear larger than life.
In an interview with USA Today, to promote the Brock Lesnar-Goldberg match, he raised a new possibility . Heyman teased that there could be a Paul Heyman girl in the near future, when asked if there was anyone he was considering as the next Paul Heyman guy:
‘I’m surprised you’d ask me and limit it to a Paul Heyman guy, when it is so apparent that we’re living at a time with the greatest depth on the female roster in the history of this industry. When I think about who it would be...in a different scenario...the perfect person for whom I could advocate, I don’t limit it to Paul Heyman Guys. I also include Paul Heyman girls.’
Sources on the internet have speculated if Asuka has caught Heyman’s eye, considering she’s next in line to be brought up to the main roster, and she hasn’t taken to English as WWE officials would have liked. But Paul Heyman dispelled those rumours immediately:
‘Being the advocate for Brock Lesnar is a 24/7, 365-day job. I would be doing a disservice to the history we’re creating, if I attempted to divide my team to another endeavour.’
The term ‘Paul Heyman guy’ is used to describe a talent/wrestler advocated by Paul Heyman. Being a ‘Paul Heyman guy’ is held in high regard considering a record 5 champions have been managed by him.
Several wrestlers have benefited from being ‘Paul Heyman guys’, namely Stunning Steve Austin, Mean Mark Callous (later known as The Undertaker), C.M. Punk, Cesaro and of course, The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar.
Paul Heyman was thankful for his tenure in the business, and was not afraid to voice his opinions on the same:
‘Every job that I’ve had in this business has brought me more pleasure than anyone can even fantasize that they can have at work. The worst day at ECW was still one of the best days of my life...I have led a truly blessed life and there has never been a day in this business that I don’t wake up and look forward to the task at hand’.
Paul Heyman’s client ‘The Beast’ Brock Lesnar battles Goldberg, this Sunday at Survivor Series, live on the WWE Network.
