WWE News: People are already betting on the Undertaker's return
What’s the story?
After being decimated by Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania last night, many have speculated Undertaker has wrestled his last match after he left his gloves, coat, and hat in the middle of the ring. The final scene was pretty telling, but that isn’t keeping book-makers from offering odds on an Undertaker return.
As reported on by Ringside News there are odds out there to bet on whether Undertaker will return at the Royal Rumble. The odds are 20 to 1 for the return and win in the annual battle royal.
In case you didn’t know...
It was heavily rumoured that after his win over Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32, the Undertaker was going to retire. More than likely Vince McMahon was able to convince Undertaker for one more run that included the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.
The heart of the matter
At age 52, the Undertaker could not do nearly as much as he did during the magical match against Shawn Michaels seven years prior at WrestleMania XXVI.
There were was one major spot that was botched in the match against Reigns where Undertaker’s Tombstone finisher was reversed. Unfortunately, ‘Taker couldn’t get the momentum needed for Reigns to complete the reversal.
What’s next?
We might see a formal goodbye from the Undertaker on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live this week. However, in keeping with the Undertaker’s persona, there may not be anything from The Deadman until a comeback is official or he’s announced for the Hall Of Fame.
Author’s take
Whether you are a betting person or not, I have one piece of advice for you on this bet. STAY AWAY FROM IT!
There was a reason Roman Reigns and Undertaker closed WrestleMania last night, it was because this is the Deadman’s swan song. Just by putting everything together with the rumours that he was supposed to be done last year to leaving his gear in the ring, the next time you’ll see ‘Taker is at the Hall Of Fame.
