What’s the story?

In a recent interview with The Mirror, Pete Dunne revealed why he uses Triple H’s entrance style and signature move.

Additionally, the current WWE UK Champion also noted how Triple H reacted to the former mimicking the Game’s trademark demeanour and finisher.

In case you didn’t know…

The WWE recently signed several young prospects from the British professional wrestling circuit.

Names such as Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate have become commonplace, particularly for hardcore WWE fans who follow the promotion’s NXT brand and UK Tournament.

The heart of the matter

Pete Dunne spoke about why he uses Triple H’s style of using a bottle and spitting out a torrent of water and his finisher ‘The Pedigree’; stating—

“I think it just came about, it was kind of the angle we had taken on at PROGRESS at the time, that we thought we were too good for the place and moving on, using PROGRESS as a platform to get to bigger and better things. It just all sort of came from that.”

“The fans seemed to like it and even though they were supposed to hate us, I think a part of them found it funny. It was a bit of fun that we had, and Triple H found it pretty funny himself, so that was pretty cool.”

Furthermore, Dunne explained that the first time Triple H reacted to the former’s mimicry was indeed quite intimidating, however, the Game later found the humor in it, and everything worked out pretty well.

What’s next?

Pete Dunne and a plethora of young British prospects presently compete on the indies, while moonlighting in the WWE as well. Besides, Dunne has time and again reiterated his desire to one day become the WWE Champion.
