WWE News: Possible plans for Neville after his return

Neville as WWE NXT Champion in 2014

The WWE Intercontinental Championship will be defended this Sunday at Extreme Rules pay-per-view. The Champion, Miz will defend his title against Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Cesaro in a fatal four way match. The Miz won the belt from Zack Ryder on the WrestleMania 32 fallout RAW. Just a day before that, Ryder won the championship by defeating Miz, Owens, Sami, Sin Cara, Dolph Ziggler and Stardust in a 7 man Ladder match.

That ladder match was supposed to feature another wrestler, the former NXT Champion, Neville. On the road to WrestleMania 32, this Breakout Star of the Year  was rumored to enter into a feud for the Intercontinental Champion. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen as Neville suffered an injury. During his match with Chris Jericho on March 16th episode of RAW, Neville fractured his ankle. This injury prevented him from wrestling for two to three months.

According to rumors, Neville is undergoing a speedy recovery and is expected to make his WWE in-ring return soon. Allwrestlingnews.com reports that, he will again be featured in the Intercontinental Championship picture as soon as he makes his return.

Neville made his WWE debut back in 2012 as a part of NXT. He defeated Bo Dallas to win the NXT Championship in 2014 and remained as the longest NXT Champion before the record was broken this year by Finn Balor.
