WWE News: Possible plans for the utilisation of Undertaker on the 900th episode of Smackdown Live
It was first announced by Mohegan Sun Arena, Pennsylvania on social media that The Undertaker would appear for the 900th episode of Smackdown Live, which is on 15th November, and that just happens to be the go-home show for Survivor Series.
Later in the day, WWE themselves confirmed the return

This came as a surprise to many, as The Phenom appears only during the road to Wrestlemania and at the event itself. However, this isn’t the first time he’s appeared this late in the year, as even last year he wrestled at Summerslam and Hell In A Cell.
According to NoDQ.com, The Phenom is set to be involved in the feud involving Kane, against The Wyatts and their newest recruit, Randy Orton. Last year in the build to Survivor Series, Undertaker and Kane were involved in a program with The Wyatt family as well.
Another great possibility, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, is that the reason Orton joined the Wyatt family in the first place, could have something to do with Undertaker’s Wrestlemania program since Orton is one of the safest workers for The Undertaker now.
So this basically adds another potential Undertaker match for Wrestlemania 33 – The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton.
As of the last year or so, the most heavily rumoured potential matchup for the Undertaker was John Cena. This was apparently the match that was penned in for Wrestlemania 32 until John Cena got injured.
However, the rumours persist. On the other hand, of late, another opponent is rumoured to face Undertaker at Wrestlemania, and that is Goldberg. That still depends on if WWE can convince Goldberg to come back for more than just one match.
It is perhaps perfect timing for The Phenom to return. The Smackdown brand is fully associated with The Undertaker and his legacy, as he helped carry the brand for many years, when stars such as John Cena, Batista, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, among others, would all come and go.
He was the cornerstone and also got to hold a few world titles for the blue brand. In the blue brand, he got to face the likes of Randy Orton, Mark Henry, Batista, and Edge at Wrestlemania.
