WWE News: Profits from Finn Balor shirt to be donated to LGBT organization GLAAD

The Balor Club knows no boundaries

What's the story?

WWE has announced today that a portion of their sales from Finn Balor's new shirt will be donated to LGBT charity GLAAD.

The shirt has Finn Balor's Balor Club logo, but with a rainbow pattern within the emblem and the motto "fOr eVERyone" right below the neckline.

In case you didn't know...

GLAAD is an American non-governental media monitoring organisation founded by LGBT people in the media. Formerly known as the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, the organization changed its name to be more inclusive of bisexual and transgender issues.

The organization's motto is "To promote understanding, increase acceptance, and advance equality." - something WWE have been trying to promote very strongly in recent years, and something Finn Balor is a strong advocate of across social media.

The heart of the matter

Finn Balor took to Twitter tonight to announce the new shirt and its aim - commenting that everyone deserves to be accepted and included.

As you can see, the former Universal Champion even changed his Twitter handle to "Finn Bálor forEVERYone."

Shortly after, Balor took to Instagram wearing the shirt, where you can see his "fOr eVERyone" motto above the Balor Club logo - a beautifully put combination of Balor's "Over" hint and of GLAAD's motto and general aim of acceptance.

For real Forever For-everyone WWE is proud to announce that a portion of sales from my new shirt will benefit GLAAD. Everyone deserves to be accepted & included! #BalorClubforEveryone

What's next?

Both posts have already gone viral and are being heralded among both the WWE Universe and LGBT communities alike.

WWE have promoted inclusiveness through several movements over the past decade, and this is an incredibly welcome one. Let's hope we see this T-shirt on television when Finn Balor appears on Raw tonight.

Author's take

Well, I personally love this. I'll always fight for equality for everyone and I think this is an incredible gesture from Balor and WWE, not only to donate profits but to spread the word and raise awareness.

It's great to see WWE trying to tackle issues like bullying and discrimination - particularly when it comes to things like homophobia, racism, sexism and even body-shaming, as we've seen from controversial storylines recently.

The shirt looks pretty great too, and I'm sure it will be a best-seller!
