WWE News: Randy Orton to guest star in upcoming USA Network show Shooter

Could Orton be coming back soon?

Randy Orton has been off WWE programming for quite a while now, after last being pulled from the Hell in a Cell PPV in October of 2015 due to a shoulder injury. But it would seem that doesn’t prevent the WWE’s Apex Predator from kicking a** elsewhere.

His latest foray into television sees him play a guest role in USA Network’s upcoming action thriller, Shooter, as a former Navy Seal and the leader of a militia group. The lead role is played by actor Ryan Philippe who had also sent out a tweet with Orton earlier in the day.

The WWE has recently signed on Smackdown to the USA Network in addition to Monday Night Raw, and if Orton’s guest appearance is a sign of things to come, more such mainstream crossover opportunities could present themselves to WWE Superstars due to the tie-up that both companies enjoy.

Either way, fans of the Viper would be hoping that this is a sign that a return to in-ring action is not too far away.
