WWE News: Randy Orton expresses his opinion on Ronda Rousey
What’s the story?
There are few WWE Superstars more qualified to speak about success in the squared circle than Randy Orton, so his opinion on new talent isn't something to be taken lightly.
TMZ Sport recently asked The Viper about WWE's latest acquisition, former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion, and the 13-time world champion didn't hold back.
In case you didn’t know…
Even after months of speculation that she would sign with WWE, Ronda Rousey shocked the world when she appeared at the end of the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
While we haven't seen the former UFC Bantamweight Champion since, she has been confirmed for the Elimination Chamber event where she will sign her exclusive WWE RAW contract.
The heart of the matter
Randy Orton is one of the few active WWE Superstars who you could legitimately call a legend, even though he made his name as being The Legend Killer, and Orton will no doubt be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame pretty much immediately after he decides to hang up his boots.
TMZ Sport recently asked The Viper about Ronda Rousey and how he thought she would compare in WWE. Although Rousey has been training for four years to make her transition to WWE, she's yet to wrestle an official match - and Orton said, while she has a great opportunity to hit the top, she won't get there straight away.
"She has a good chance of being one of the top female wrestlers eventually. But she's got a long way to go."
What's next?
Ronda Rousey will appear at WWE Elimination Chamber to sign her official contract, making her a full-time WWE Superstar on the RAW brand. If rumours are to be believed, Ronda Rousey will debut at WrestleMania.
Author’s take
Well, it's always interesting to hear any WWE Superstar's opinion on this, and Randy Orton definitely knows what he's talking about. I guess we won't have to wait too long to find out how Ronda Rousey gets on in the squared circle.
