WWE News: Rare footage of Kane's original ring attire has emerged
What's the story?
A rare clip of Kane's original ring attire has surfaced online.
The clip shows Kane wearing a cape on his way to the ring at a house show in 1997.
In case you didn't know. . .
Kane has been one of the most decorated veterans in the history of WWE. He debuted at the Bad Blood 1997 PPV, costing The Undertaker his Hell in a Cell match against The Heart Break Kid, Shawn Michaels.
Ever since his debut, Kane has been consistently performing in the company. He has won World titles, created Rumble records, and has been a part of multiple WrestleMania events.
Kane's ring attire matched his frightening persona to a T. He reinvented himself in 2003 when he dropped the mask, revealing a hideous freak who went on to wreak havoc on the WWE roster for months on end.
The heart of the matter
A rare video clip of Kane has surfaced online, showing him coming down to the ring at a house show, weeks before his official debut at the Bad Blood PPV.
The hilarious clip features Kane and Paul Bearer, who were walking out to the ring, with Kane wearing a white cape of all things! This signifies that WWE tried this particular ring attire on Kane before bringing him to the main roster.
A cape wearing Kane looked ridiculous, and understandably, it was dropped before he made his debut.
Another reason for losing the cape could be the fact that the fans on the way to the ring would grab it, to Kane's annoyance. In the above clip, you can see the fans grabbing his cape on multiple occasions.
Although the footage is grainy and the quality of the video is embarrassing, one can clearly witness the hilarity getting unfold in the clip.
What's next?
Losing the cape turned out to be a wise decision as Kane went on to become one of the most recognized wrestlers on the planet. He is currently serving as the Mayor of Tennessee, a role that's completely opposite to his in-ring Demon persona.
What are your thoughts on Kane's original attire? Do you think he should have kept it? Sound off!
