WWE News: RAW after WWE Elimination Chamber draws the highest viewership for 2019
What's the story?
Even without the Universal Championship being defended, many people around the world agreed that Elimination Chamber was a pretty good show. The fallout episode of RAW had the best viewership of 2019, as a result.
Some could attribute this to the fact that Ronda Rousey and Ruby Riott had a very solid main event match in an Elimination Chamber repeat. Others could say that the NXT call-ups were responsible for the numbers.
In case you didn't know...
At the top of the first hour, Triple H made a big announcement. Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Ricochet were going to be called up to the main roster to add to the already stacked ranks on RAW.
All four of them competed on the show, this week. McIntyre took on Ambrose in what was essentially just a squash match. Ronda Rousey and Ruby Riott had a very close match in the main event.
The heart of the matter
The show drew 2.771 million viewers which is quite a solid number if you consider how low the viewership had been in some of the weeks past. It is also a massive 12.5% increase if you compare the number to last week's figure of 2.462 million viewers, making it the fifth highest rated show on cable television.
I would like to thank Wrestling Inc. for the figures. RAW was the top-rated show for the 18-49 demographic this week.
What's next?
One wonders if the viewership will still be as high next week when the excitement of the NXT call-ups subsides a fair bit. Fewer eyes may be on the product as well because it won't be the fallout of a pay-per-view like it was this week. WWE may have to pull out a winner to remain consistent.
Why do you think the viewership was so good? Let us know in the comments.
