WWE News: Real reason Becky Lynch will be on WWE RAW tonight
What's the story?
Becky Lynch was invited to tonight's episode of WWE RAW by none other than Stephanie McMahon. We don't yet know what plans WWE have for the in-ring segment later tonight but Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter gave us an insight into why WWE booked Becky Lynch on RAW.
In case you didn't know...
Becky Lynch replaced Lana as a last-minute entry in the 2019 women's WWE Royal Rumble and ended up eliminating Charlotte to win the Rumble. The following night on RAW, Becky Lynch came out to go face-to-face with Ronda Rousey after the RAW Women's Champion's match against Bayley.
Lynch told Rousey that she didn't need any time to decide who she wanted to face at WrestleMania 35 and made it clear that she was coming after the RAW Women's Championship.
Becky Lynch and Charlotte got into a physical altercation on SmackDown Live the following night. Becky is also reportedly selling an injury in storyline right now
The heart of the matter
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer[H/T RingsideNews], Dave Meltzer gave an insight into why Becky Lynch will be appearing on WWE RAW tonight, saying that it most probably had to do with the rating:
“I’m sure that they expect Stephanie to help build the rating with putting Becky Lynch on there to help build the rating. Maybe it will a little bit.”
What's next?
We don't yet know what WWE's plans for Becky Lynch in the near future are although we know that she will be challenging Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35, although there are rumors that Charlotte Flair could get added to the match - making it a triple threat. If that is the case, we could see Becky vs Charlotte at an upcoming PPV with a spot in the RAW Women's Championship match at stake.
