WWE News: Reason behind Sasha Banks disappearance from WWE TV possibly revealed

Sasha Banks' disappearance from WWE programming has raised many eyebrows

After coming up awfully short in capturing the Women’s Title at WrestleMania 32, Sasha Banks’ role in WWE has been downplayed. In fact, after WrestleMania Sasha has appeared only thrice on WWE programming, once for the presentation of the Women’s Championship the following night on Raw, the next in a singles match against Summer Ray and her final appearance was in a 8 women tag team match on Raw, April 18.

Given her sporadic appearance in WWE programming, many have feared that Sasha Banks career in WWE might have come to end. Considering how mercurial WWE’s stance is regarding its performers, many were fearing that WWE has lost interest in Sasha. Though Sasha has not been appearing on WWE weekly programming, she has been working full time with WWE and appearing on most of the Live Events and other non-televised events.

But, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling observer notes that is not the case at all. In fact, he states that WWE has been downplaying Sasha’s involvement in the women’s division. According to Meltzer, the reason is that WWE is downplaying Sasha’s involvement considering the long term plans that are in store for her.

It would be good to note that there has been speculation that WWE is planning to crown Sasha as the Women’s Champion at SummerSlam, this year. Considering that Sasha is a fan-favorite and has enough in-ring abilities to put on great matches, WWE’s this move will not come as a surprise to many, in fact many may consider it a bit delayed.
