What’s the story?

Per Justin LaBar of Chairshot Reality on WrestlingInc, four cameras were placed in strategic positions at the WWE’s most recent pay-per-view event.

Apparently, the WWE carried out Virtual Reality testing at Clash Of Champions.

In case you didn’t know…

As we’d previously reported, the WWE plans to evolve fan-experience by eventually giving them the option to view its programming in Virtual Reality (VR).

WWE is making strides in that avenue, and at the Clash Of Champions PPV which went down earlier this month, WWE furthered its testing in VR.

The heart of the matter

LaBar noted that the WWE had a couple of cameras placed atop the ring posts, with two other cameras outside in order to carry out Virtual Reality testing.

The WWE had strategically placed the aforementioned cameras; filming the action underway at the Clash Of Champions PPV—the information collected through which will be utilized to further the company’s VR aspirations.

Furthermore, one ought to note that, as of this writing, the WWE is yet to officially address the aforementioned news.

What’s next?

The WWE’s next PPV goes down at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 28th, as the Royal Rumble takes place and history will be made.

Author’s take

Honestly speaking, the WWE are pulling out all the stops in order to enhance the entertainment factor in their already fantabulous product. Given the global clout of WWE and the promotion’s ever-evolving product, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to hear them make big announcements pertaining to WWE Virtual Reality very soon.

It’s awesome to see how far the sport of professional wrestling has come, and none of this would’ve been possible without visionaries such as WWE boss Vince McMahon and the dozens of amazing WWE Superstars.
