WWE News: Reason revealed as to why Brock Lesnar is returning next week on Raw

Brock Lesnar will be face to face with Braun Strowman and Kane next week

What's the story?

WWE announced last week that The Universal Champion Brock Lesnar would be returning to Monday Night Raw just a week before Christmas. With no number one contender for his Championship currently named, the main question right now is why The Beast is set to resurface in Providence, Rhode Island?

In case you didn't know...

Brock Lesnar defeated AJ Styles in his last appearance in a WWE ring back at Survivor Series in November and since the Raw brand doesn't have another pay-per-view in 2017, it seemed logical that Brock would take some more time away whilst a new number one contender for his Championship was crowned.

Brock won the title back at WrestleMania when he was finally able to defeat Goldberg after a number of embarrassing encounters with the former WCW star. Over the eight months, Brock has been able to defeat the likes of Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman who are considered to be two of the hardest hitters on the Raw roster right now.

The heart of the matter

Brock needs a challenger for The Royal Rumble and a new one was set to be crowned last Monday on Raw when Braun Strowman faced off against Kane, but the match ended as a no-contest which means that The Beast is set to return to Raw to address the current situation.

WWE released the following preview of Monday Night Raw on WWE.com:

This past Monday night’s Raw main event should have decided Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship challenger at the 2018 Royal Rumble event on Sunday, Jan. 28. However, Braun Strowman and Kane’s hard-hitting bout quickly descended into chaos. Following a double count-out, neither Superstar emerged as The Beast’s challenger. So, who will rise to face The Conqueror? Live on Raw, Lesnar returns to address the future of his championship — and the behemoths intent on capturing it."

It seems that after almost a month away from WWE, Brock is back to discuss who he will be facing at the first WWE pay-per-view of 2018, which is rumored to be a triple threat match between Braun, Kane, and Brock.

The preview continued:

The Beast Incarnate is back! After a monstrous main event pitting Braun Strowman against Kane ended in a double count-out, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar does not have a challenger for the Royal Rumble event. As the WWE Universe awaits a decision by Raw General Manager Kurt Angle, The Conqueror resurfaces.

What's next?

Brock Lesnar will appear on Monday Night Raw next week and is perhaps set to be part of the reason that a triple threat match is announced. Kane and Braun haven't been able to be separated over the past few weeks, so Brock could be the person who comes between the two men and comes worse off for it next week.

Authors take

Lesnar is a rating draw and since it has been speculated that Roman Reigns won't be part of Raw on Monday night, WWE needed someone of Brock's magnitude to take his place. It will be interesting to see how the Royal Rumble main event is revealed, as well as being able to see Kane, Braun, and Brock in the same ring for the first time.
