WWE News: Reason why Vince McMahon wanted Goldberg to squash Brock Lesnar

Lesnar was handed one of the most brutal losses of his career at the hands of Goldberg at Survivor Series

WWE fans all over the globe were left shocked after Goldberg decimated Brock Lesnar in their much-anticipated rematch. While many praised the sudden booking decision, a section of the fanbase was left fuming with the outcome.

According to allwrestlingnews.com, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon felt that the squash would be unpredictable, that would, in turn, generate the most buzz after the event. He also thinks that one loss will not hurt a wrestler like Lesnar and always relies on fans having a short memory. The interesting thing to note here is the mentality of McMahon regarding the fans; it is clear that he has misunderstood the fans with the remark “fans having a short memory”.

It has also been revealed that it was Lesnar who pitched the idea of a squash to McMahon. The prospect of the additional money that WWE could rake in with Goldberg staying was highlighted. As expected, McMahon didn’t have any second thoughts regarding a Goldberg victory

Furthermore, after the event, the news of Goldberg agreeing to do more dates with the WWE was disclosed.

Only a few people backstage knew about the finish of the match with the eventual result not only shocking the WWE Universe, but also many superstars back in the WWE Locker room. Here is the video that captured the reactions of the WWE locker room:
Goldberg’s return is turning out to be eventful rather than just a one match thing. The cards have already been laid out with Goldberg announcing his participation for the 2017 Royal Rumble, which would most likely lead to another match between the two at WrestleMania 33.
