WWE News: Reby Hardy says Impact Wrestling is going after her personally

The Impact vs Hardys battle rages on.

What’s the story?

Reby Hardy has taken to social media to allege that Impact Wrestling is going after her personally.

Over the course of the past few weeks, the 30-year old former Impact Wrestling employee has reportedly opined that the promotion’s new owners are spending a considerable amount of money to target her and the rest of the Hardy family.

In case you didn’t know...

Reby, Matt, Jeff and the former’s son Maxel, as well as Reby’s father (Senor Benjamin) previously worked for TNA (now rebranded as Impact Wrestling), until they parted ways with the promotion earlier this year.

Impact Wrestling’s new owners Anthem Sports and Entertainment have issued a cease and desist order to the Hardys, in regards to their usage of the ‘Broken’ gimmick that resulted in the entire Hardy family getting wildly popular in the pro-wrestling community as well as the Internet, since the introduction of the gimmick last year.

The heart of the matter:

The legal issues between Anthem and the Hardy family seem to continue all the same, if you are to believe the claims made by Reby Hardy on her social media handle. As we had previously reported, the professional wrestling world has been rife with rumors of the WWE allegedly trying to acquire the usage rights of the ‘Broken’ gimmick from Impact Wrestling.  However, Reby Hardy refutes any such claims, stating that Matt Hardy is, in fact, the one who has conceptualized the Broken gimmick, and that Impact Wrestling cannot claim exclusivity of said gimmick.

Besides, Reby also stated that TNA/Impact Wrestling chooses to take the approach of laying off several employees and cutting everyone’s pay, in order to save money, but at the same time is spending a considerable quota of dollars in order to fund their ongoing battle against her; all while they are fully aware of the fact that she is an 8-month pregnant expecting-mother.

What’s next?

The Hardys are presently under contract with the WWE, where Matt and Jeff Hardy are the current WWE RAW tag-team champions. Reby Hardy, Maxel and Senor Benjamin are yet to prominently appear on WWE’s on-screen programming.

Author’s take:

Based on the Tweet sent out by Reby Hardy, I am forced to believe that Impact Wrestling management have, indeed, contacted her family once again, of course in relation to the ‘Broken’ gimmick.

This entire fiasco will do nothing more than garner bad PR for Impact Wrestling, and in my humble opinion, they ought to let bygones be bygones and let the Hardys be. Stay strong Queen Rebecca!
