What's the story?

WWE Raw commentator Renee Young recently took to Instagram and reacted on Dean Ambrose' departure from WWE, after tonight's "The Shield's Final Chapter" Network Exclusive.

Young posted a picture of herself, boasting a denim shirt with Ambrose' face slapped on the back.

In case you didn't know...

Tonight's "The Shield's Final Chapter" show was Dean Ambrose' final appearance for WWE. He seemed to be hell-bent on leaving the company, even though his Shield brethren did their best to convince him to stay. Ambrose had requested his release from WWE earlier this year, and the company had reportedly granted him the same.

The Shield's match against Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and Baron Corbin at Fastlane 2019 was supposed to be the final reunion of The Shield, but the trio went on to make several appearances together after the PPV.

The heart of the matter

Tonight's show was heavily being promoted by WWE as the final chapter of The Shield's story. After the trio won their 6-man tag team match, they addressed the crowd one last time, and left the spot. The Shield proceeded to give an interview to Michael Cole before the match, in which Dean stated that he answers to no one.

Dean Ambrose' wife Renee Young posted a photo of herself on the photo-sharing app, Instagram. The picture shows her wearing a denim shirt, probably custom-made, with a headshot of Dean Ambrose on the back. She added a hashtag in the caption, thanking her husband.

What's next?

It seems like this was certainly the last time we saw The Shield together. Dean Ambrose might look out for greener pastures or retire from professional wrestling, if the rumor mill is to be believed.

What's your reaction on Dean Ambrose leaving WWE? Could we see him in AEW? Or will he retire for good?
