WWE News: Rey Mysterio says he would accept a match against AJ Styles

In one single tweet from his official Twitter handle, three-time WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio has sent the entire wrestling world in frenetic madness, as earlier in the day, Mysterio claimed that he isn’t hesitant about accepting a match against current WWE Champion AJ Styles.
In case you didn’t know…
During this year’s 30-man Royal Rumble match, Rey Mysterio made his WWE return following an absence of 2 years from the company. Upon his return to the WWE, Mysterio received a great reception from the WWE Universe and was immediately back to his very best inside the squared circle as he performed all his classic high-flying moves including his iconic 619 finishing maneuver.
The heart of the matter
Yesterday WWE posted a video on social media teasing a potential fantasy match between the three-time WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio and two-time WWE World Champion and current WWE Champion AJ Styles.
And earlier today, Mysterio decided to retweet WWE’s post, where the company wrote: “How fast would you buy your ticket to see AJ Styles go toe-to-toe with former World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio?” to which Rey responded by claiming that he wouldn’t waste any time in accepting a match against AJ Styles, as the masked luchador wrote on Twitter: “Can’t answer on how fast to buy the tickets, but what I can answer is on how fast would I accept….right away.”
Additionally, there has also been several reports from The Observer’s Dave Meltzer who has suggested that Rey Mysterio will be signing a part-time contract with the WWE within 2019 which will allow him to compete for the company on a temporary basis in the near future, which also puts a limelight to the potential match-up between Styles and Mysterio.
What’s next?
In a latest Instagram post, Rey Mysterio himself has also recently teased a match against “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, however, Mysterio’s current goal will be to focus on his upcoming match against Jushin “Thunder” Liger at NJPW’s Strong Style Evolved pay-per-view on the 25th of March, 2018 at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California.
