Yes, you guessed correctly; his daughter Charlotte was one of his picks.

What's the story?

Recently, Busted Open Radio had 16-time World Champion Ric Flair on their show to talk about many topics within the wrestling world as well as his recent health problems.

During the interview, Flair was high in praise for Charlotte, saying that the SmackDown Live Superstar was 'one of 'the top 3 workers' in the pro wrestling business alongside Randy Orton and AJ Styles.

In case you didn't know...

Ric Flair has been doing the media rounds at the moment as the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary about his incredible pro wrestling career nears its airing date, November 7th. On the 26th of October, he attended a special screening of the film in Atlanta — even The Undertaker attended the red carpet event, his first public appearance since possibly retiring at WrestleMania 33.

This is remarkable considering just a few weeks ago, things were not looking good for The Nature Boy as he was admitted to hospital with a number of medical issues, notably kidney failure.

Fortunately and miraculously, Flair managed to not only pull through but also become well enough to recover in time for the red carpet event in Atlanta.

Charlotte is the daughter of Ric Flair, and she has been on the WWE main roster for over two years now. As already mentioned, she is a four-time RAW Women's Champion and she is also a key factor in why the Women's Evolution in WWE had done so well.

The Nature Girl has been on SmackDown Live since the Superstar Shake-up after WrestleMania, moving from RAW. She has been a babyface since May, which I think is personally not doing her any favours at the moment.

The heart of the matter

Ric Flair put his daughter over whilst he was on Busted Open Radio.

Flair thinks that Charlotte is currently one of the best 3 professional wrestlers currently ''in terms of athletic ability, work ethic, and workouts and her gimmick and everything." In his opinion, Randy Orton and AJ Styles are the other two performers who are on that level.

Flair stated Orton or Styles aren't better than Charlotte, but they have more 'experience' than her.

Flair said that Seth Rollins 'maybe' is also as good as Charlotte, Orton and Styles.

What's next?

You will be able to see Ric Flair's 30 for 30 film when it premieres worldwide on ESPN on November 7th.

Randy Orton and AJ Styles are both members of Team SmackDown for the 5-on-5 Men's Elimination Match against RAW at the Survivor Series PPV, which will take place on the 19th of November.

Charlotte is on Team SmackDown for the Women's 5-on-5 Elimination Match against RAW at Survivor Series as well.

Reports suggest that former UFC Champion Ronda Rousey could be Charlotte's opponent at WrestleMania 34.

Author's take

Although Ric Flair may be biased when calling Charlotte one of the best wrestlers in the world because they are father and daughter; however, I can't help but agree with him.

Charlotte is really world class when it comes to in-ring ability, and her mic work is great too, especially when she is a heel. I am hoping WWE turn her heel again pretty soon because I feel that, as a babyface, the self-proclaimed Queen of the Women's Division is getting lost in the shuffle. Charlotte is just a more natural villain.

I also concur with Ric Flair because, in my opinion, AJ Styles is the best wrestler in the business today.

However, I think Randy Orton's seemingly lazy habits in the ring and stale good-guy character hinder him.
