WWE News: Ric Flair on being part of Evolution and Charlotte losing the Women’s Title

Ric Flair is regarded as one of the best pro-wrestlers to walk the earth

There are not too many in the world of professional wrestling who would not be familiar with the name Ric Flair. Flair has cultivated a legacy of being one of the best professional wrestlers in the world with a career spanning over 40 years. Known as “the Nature Boy”, he had substantial tenures in different wrestling organizations such as the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), WWE and even Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling.

The 67 year-old veteran recently spoke to Fansided to promote his online podcast, The Ric Flair Show. Ric shed light on his experience with the Triple H led stable, Evolution. Flair said that it was an amazing time and he enjoyed every second of it. He was all praise for Triple H who put the faction together. He went on to say that recently, Hunter has taken a tremendous amount of responsibility in the WWE, with NXT being his brain child, where he has been solely responsible for the upswing on the talent.

“It was a little more conservative than the 4 Horseman but equally just as fun. It was a great opportunity for me to have a good time, and I always do. Randy is back and looks like a million dollars. Dave has a brand of his own that has taken off. And look at Hunter who is virtually running the company. I am proud of all three of them for improving their wrestling careers and other opportunities outside of the wrestling business”, Flair said.

Ric has enjoyed watching his daughter take to the ring

When quizzed about his daughter’s run with the Women’s Championship and her subsequent loss to Sasha Banks, he replied, “She didn’t lose anything. She proved to everyone in the world that she is the greatest athlete in the WWE and the greatest women’s champion of all time.” The two time Hall of Famer said that there was no disgrace in losing to Sasha. Charlotte held the title for 307 days which is a long time in a sport that is so competitive. He said that he was proud of his daughter and was expecting her to tear down the house again at the rematch at SummerSlam.

Flair acknowledged that Charlotte has only been the business for 4 years and yet, she has made a lot of progress. Out of those 4 years she took 8 months off due to injury and another 4 due to her brother passing away. She has come full circle and is just a phenomenal athlete.

Flair said that he enjoyed being ringside during Charlotte’s matches. “She is way better than I was let me tell you that. In 4 decades I have never done a moonsault to someone off the top rope. She has legitimate heat and I love it”, Flair told reporters.
