WWE News: Ric Flair gives an update on his recovery
What's the story?
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is known for three things: being a 16-time world champion, for being this guy, and for being harder to kill than Steven Seagal. Thankfully, his latest wrestling match with the Grim Reaper (which, ironically, sounds like something Jim Herd or Kevin Sullivan would have booked) seems to have ended in a win for the "Nature Boy", as his latest Twitter update seems to indicate.
In case you didn't know...
Over the course of his career, Flair has survived many dangerous situations: a plane crash in 1975, numerous altercations with drunken fans, and, most terrifyingly, having to work with Sid Vicious. Earlier this month, however, Flair had to be rushed to a hospital and put into a medically induced coma due to a blockage in his colon. The operation was successful, but Flair still needed to recover from the medical problems caused by it.
The heart of the matter
Over the past week or so, Flair has been providing plenty of updates on his status on Twitter. Today, though, he posted his most positive one yet:
As you can see, Flair in on his feet and looks like he's in good spirits. It also looks like his hospital room has a pretty nice view.
What's next?
Obviously, the type of medical situation Flair went through isn't the kind you recover from overnight. Even once he's released from the hospital, he'll most certainly need some recovery time at home. You can probably also expect his doctors to put him on a pretty strict diet.
Author's take
Once Flair is finally back at 100%, I highly suspect — if he's up to it — that WWE will bring him on and give the live audience a chance to welcome him back. However, he'd have to travel since most of the upcoming episodes are fairly far from North Carolina. Either way, we're all happy to see he's recovering nicely.
