WWE News: Ric Flair reveals who he would put in The Four Horsemen from today's WWE Superstars

Tully Blanchard, JJ Dillon, Ric Flair, Ole & Arn Anderson made up the original Four Horsemen

What's the story?

Wrestling Inc. is reporting on an interview that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair had with 98 Rock in Baltimore. During the interview, Flair discussed several topics on the Justin, Scott, and Spiegel Show as he is promoting the reunion of The Four Horsemen at an upcoming Maryland Championship Wrestling show.

One of the topics they discussed was who Flair would have, from today's WWE Superstars, in The Four Horsemen.

In case you didn't know...

The original Four Horsemen formed in 1985 with Ric Flair and his (kayfabe) cousins Ole and Arn Anderson, along with Tully Blanchard. JJ Dillon was their manager and they feuded with the top stars of NWA like Dusty Rhodes, The Rock 'n' Roll Express, and The Road Warriors.

The heart of the matter

The first name that Flair took, to be in today's Four Horsemen, was Dolph Ziggler. The second one that he chose was Seth Rollins, and he rounded out the stable with Roman Reigns and Randy Orton.

Flair mentioned that in order to be a member of The Four Horsemen, you would have to be good at what you do and also be able to enjoy life.

When talking about Orton, Flair said that he is still the best wrestler in the company today. He went on to say that Orton reminds him of a slightly shorter version of Barry Windham, who was a member of The Four Horsemen from 1987 to 1989.

What's next?

The Four Horsemen are celebrating their 35th anniversary, where they will ride again and appear for Maryland Championship Wrestling this Saturday, February 17th. MCW is located in Joppa, Maryland, and according to their Facebook event page, the show is almost sold out.

Author's take

I grew up watching the NWA and WCW every Saturday night and loved watching guys like The Four Horsemen in action.

Flair's choice is definitely an interesting grouping for today's Four Horsemen. I love how he mentioned Ziggler first, because he is very talented. Some will see the choice as a surprise because Ziggler hasn't had a major push lately, but I think he would make a great Horsemen.

My own personal Four Horsemen of today would definitely include The Revival, because they are about as close to Arn and Tully as you're going to get today. Then, I'd fill it in with a top star and a midcard talent such as Bobby Roode and either Tye Dillinger or Mike Bennett (if you get rid of the Power of Love gimmick). Finally, my manager would definitely be Ric Flair.
