WWE News: Roman Reigns makes Hollywood debut in Fast & Furious spinoff
What's the Story?
Roman Reigns is occupying his time away from WWE with an impressive debut in the film industry alongside The Rock.
The two will appear in the film "Hobbs & Shaw," the spinoff of the Fast & Furious movie franchise.
In Case You Didn't Know...
The Rock made his debut in the Fast & Furious series in the 2011 film, Fast Five, as the character Luke Hobbs, and has been a major part of the series ever since.
His latest appearance in the movie series was in Fate of The Furious, released in April 2017.
The Heart of the Matter
The Rock announced Reigns' debut in the Fast & Furious franchise from his Instagram account where he showed a few pictures from the upcoming film.
Reigns will star as the brother of The Rock's character Hobbs in the movie, marking his first appearance in a major film.
WWE said the following about Reign's appearance in the upcoming movie:
The Rock’s “Fast and Furious” family is growing by one, and an actual family member is getting in on the action.
Rock announced that none other than Roman Reigns will appear in “Hobbs & Shaw,” a spinoff of the “Fast and Furious” franchise focused on the exploits of The Great One’s government agent Luke Hobbs — a role he originated in 2011’s “Fast Five” — and the criminal Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham since 2013’s “Fast & Furious 6.”
Reigns has not been seen on WWE programming since relinquishing the Universal Championship in October due to his battle with leukaemia.
What's Next?
The film is scheduled to be released in August 2019 and will be the third spinoff film in The Fast & Furious franchise.
Good luck to Reigns in with his acting debut, get well soon.
