From the WWE Rumor Mill: Roman Reigns not a part of the 5-on-5 match at Survivor Series

<p>
How will WWE book Survivor Series now?

What's the story?

Roman Reigns' status with WWE has been plagued by illness recently and it's already taken him out of the TLC pay-per-view, where a full reunion of The Shield was substituted by the in-ring return of Kurt Angle.However, it probably worked out for the best in the end as the WWE Universe got The Olympic Hero back in the ring, it wasn't the best news for Roman Reigns.

Even though the Big Dog is set to appear on next week's episode of Raw, he will not represent the flagship show at Survivor Series as Kurt Angle's team of 5 Superstars was confirmed and didn't include Reigns.

In case you didn't know...

The mumps is no laughing matter. Even though Roman Reigns might work hard every day to maintain the best health, having an impressive physique and great hair don't really matter to a viral infection.

The heart of the matter

During the Raw from Manchester, England, the rest of Team Raw was completed after Jason Jordan defeated Elias in a guitar on a pole match. The rest of the team comprises of Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle and Braun Strowman.

Therefore, it looks like any plans of Roman Reigns being used for the big match at Survivor Series – which were contingent on The Big Dog getting better – have been changed and a Plan B needed to be implemented.

As of right now, the Shield looks set to face the New Day at Survivor Series after the New Day cost Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins the Raw Tag Team Championships.

What's next?

No matter what happens at Survivor Series, Reigns will defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 to win the Universal Championship.

Author's take

Even though the Shield and the New Day are both very popular acts, Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods won't be perceived as credible threats to Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Expect the Shield to prevail in an enjoyable encounter at Survivor Series.
