WWE News: Roman Reigns return confirmed

What's the story?

WWE confirmed that Roman Reigns would make his return to television on the go-home show of Raw right before Survivor Series.

The next edition of Raw will take place on November 13th at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

In case you didn't know...

Shortly following the reunion of The Shield, Roman Reigns came down with a viral infection that also kept Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas off television for a few weeks, forcing WWE to change the TLC card. Kurt Angle eventually replaced Roman Reigns and AJ Styles faced Finn Balor at TLC.

The heart of the matter

While many expected Reigns to save Team Raw from being "under siege", it appears that the Shield may instead face the New Day at Survivor Series. The New Day cost Rollins and Ambrose the Tag Team Championships on the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw.

Sportskeeda reported earlier today that the WWE had a "Plan B" in the event that Reigns couldn't compete at Survivor Series. When it was revealed that Jason Jordan was on Team RAW, many speculated that they were keeping Reigns out until after Survivor Series to be safe.

What's next?

The next edition of Monday Night Raw takes place from the Philips Center in Atlanta, Georgia, as previously stated.

With the return of Reigns, one can expect the official announcement of The Shield vs. The New Day at Survivor Series 2017 on November 19th from Houston, Texas.

Author's take

As much as I would like The Shield to pick up the win for Team Raw, it is a better story if they lose and Kurt Angle has to answer to Stephanie McMahon after the loss. If you put the members of The Shield on Team Raw, they cannot lose.

It was a complete surprise to see The New Day interfere and cost Ambrose and Rollins the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships to possibly set up a shocking match between two factions that could steal the show at Survivor Series.
