What's the story?

Roman Reigns obviously has an extremely busy WrestleMania weekend, taking on Drew McIntyre at the show of shows. Apart from this, he has Axxess and all sorts of other media obligations, keeping him busy throughout.

However, in an interview with Inside The Ropes, Roman Reigns spoke extensively about the WrestleMania main event and why they deserved the spot. When asked who he's rooting for, he gave a very clear answer.

In case you didn't know...

Roman Reigns was never supposed to be at WrestleMania 35 in the first place. Due to his leukaemia, the entire card was planned to go on without him, despite original plans calling for him to face Dean Ambrose in a Universal Championship match.

However, Reigns came back around the end of February and announced that he's in remission. He wasted no time in getting back in the ring, and Fastlane 2019 saw Reigns reunite with The Shield one last time to take on Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin.

As for WrestleMania, he'll be taking on The Scottish Psychopath Drew McIntyre. It'll be the first time in five years that Roman Reigns won't be main eventing WrestleMania.

The heart of the matter

Roman Reigns is more than happy to see the women get what they deserved a long time ago, in his words. When asked about who he was rooting for, his instant reply was "The Man" Becky Lynch.

He praised her for showing the grind and passion that it takes to succeed on that level, and said that apart from Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan circa 2014, there hasn't been such an organic rise before.

Moreover, it means a lot to him on a personal level, because he said he'd like to see his daughter watch strong, "ultra alpha" women on a big platform, as she's only 11 years old and easily influenceable.

What's next?

WrestleMania is on Sunday and we're edging closer and closer. The road to WrestleMania is finished and we're getting set for the show of shows!
