WWE News: Roman Reigns says the DX does not need to be 'celebrated'
What's the story?
Roman Reigns went to Twitter to state that the Shield beat DX and it was all about the "Realest Generation" now, saying that was what he celebrated and represented. Roman had previously gone on record in a conference call earlier this week to call out the Young Bucks for their lack of originality.
In case you didn't know...
The Shield and DX may never have met in a Six-Man tag team match inside the ring on live television, but Roman defeated DX member Triple H in singles action in Wrestlemania. As a team Shield also took on the New Age Outlaws quite a few times and came out victorious. The most notable of these victories came when they met the New Age Outlaws and Kane at Wrestlemania and stood victorious.
The heart of the matter
Roman Reigns stated on Twitter that the Shield was better than DX and that the Hounds of Justice had beaten them. He continued on to say that the Shield were the 'Realest Generation' and that was who he represented and celebrated.
Roman's tweet was in response to a tweet by a fan quoting him saying that they did not need people acting like they are DX. Earlier in the week, Roman Reigns called out the Young Bucks for not having any original characters and acting like they are from DX twenty years ago. He stressed on the need for original characters in WWE and mentioned the likes of Braun Strowman, saying how he and others inside the WWE made their own characters and were themselves instead of pretending to be others.
The one time that DX and the Shield did face off after Smackdown though, DX came off better as they saved the Undertaker from the attacking Shield.

What's next?
The Shield is set for some serious competition in the upcoming pay-per-view at TLC when the face the Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro as well as the Monster among Men, Braun Strowman in a Four on Three handicap Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.
Author's take
DX was an integral part of the Attitude Era and represented the change in the programming that WWE adopted at that time. They helped WWE overcome WCW during the Monday night war.
The Shield was one of the best factions of the new generation and revolutionised WWE when they first appeared. Comparing the two is neither possible nor fair, as both teams added a lot to WWE programming.
