Roman Reigns will miss the first week of WWE's UK tour

What’s the story?

The red brand’s Superstars are set to depart for their UK tour after the Monday Night RAW tapings this week.

Speaking of which, Roman Reigns who was initially scheduled to participate in the main events for RAW’s house shows during the United Kingdom tour, has now been removed from the first few live events on said tour.

In case you didn’t know…

Roman Reigns recently fell victim to a mumps outbreak in the RAW locker room, alongside a few other Superstars including Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt.

The Big Dog is reportedly making a quick and safe recovery, however, WWE management isn't in a rush to bring him back to the ring, in order to ensure that Reigns is given enough time to heal.

The heart of the matter

On that note, several industry experts opine that a key factor behind the WWE removing Roman Reigns from the first few live events for its upcoming UK tour is to prevent other Superstars from potentially contracting the mumps from Reigns who is yet to make a full recovery.

The live events for week 1 of RAW’s United Kingdom tour previously advertised the Shield (Reigns, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose) taking on the Miz, and the Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus) in the main event. However, the headliner for the shows has now been changed to Ambrose and Rollins defending the RAW Tag Team Championships against the Bar.

Furthermore, Triple H is also scheduled to compete at the house shows on the UK tour. Besides, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle is being promoted for the red brand’s November 7th live event in Birmingham, England.

Author’s take

Well, kudos to the WWE for turning a negative into a positive, and making optimal use of their roster.

While it’s great to see Triple H and Kurt Angle back in action, as a longtime fan of the Big Dog, here’s wishing a speedy recovery to the one and only Roman Reigns.
