What's the story?

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns will be returning to the ring much sooner than fans expected as he teams up with Seth Rollins at the Fastlane pay-per-view.

The former Universal Champion has not wrestled since October 2018, when he relinquished the title to undergo treatment for leukemia.

In case you didn't know...

Reigns received a warm welcome from the fans following his return to Monday Night Raw this week when he told the world that his leukemia was in remission.

The Big Dog would make another appearance later on in the show when he and Rollins came to the aid of their former ally Dean Ambrose, which has led to speculation about a potential Shield reunion.

The heart of the matter

Reigns and Rollins are scheduled to face Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntrye in a 2 on 3 Handicap match next Sunday according to an advertisement from the Quicken Loans Arena, the venue for Fastlane.

The last match Reigns competed in took place on Oct. 15, 2018 - a week before Reigns relinquished the Universal Championship. The Shield defeated Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and McIntyre on that episode.

Reigns is currently scheduled to wrestle on Raw and pay-per-views until May and will start to work live events according to a report from PWInsider.

The company wasted no time in pushing Roman Reigns back into his top spot and have many fans speculating what his role will be for WrestleMania 35.

What's next?

Ambrose was saved by Reigns and Rollins on Raw, but the former teammates have not made amends yet.

If a Shield reunion is to take place before Ambrose leaves the company in April, it would have to take place in the next few weeks.
