What's the story?

The Shield interrupted Braun Strowman when he was in the middle of trying to annihilate Matt Hardy. The confrontation ended with Roman Reigns spearing Strowman onto the steel entrance ramp and then the freshly reunited Shield triple-powerbombed the 'monster among men' through the Raw announce table.

This led to Kurt Angle taking drastic measures and announcing a huge match for next week's Raw.

In case you didn't know...

The Shield will clash with the Miz with The Bar and Braun Strowman at TLC, following run-ins among the members of both factions. But we won't have to wait until TLC to see two of the respective teams members face each other in a brutal stipulation match.

The heart of the matter

The Raw General Manager has announced that next week at Portland, Oregon, Roman Reigns will face Braun Strowman inside a steel cage meaning that Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins won't be able to help. Neither will The Miz or The Bar who might be tempted to help their newly added TLC team-mate.

This is sure to be a brutal and huge confrontation between the 'Big Dog' and the 'Monster' and could be a match that has severe repercussions for either team's chances of winning the tables, ladders and chairs match at TLC 2017.

What next?

As I just mentioned there's a very big chance that one of these men is going to end up injured going into TLC following the cage match, so I fully expect this announcement to have a big storyline impact.

My money's on Strowman injuring Roman in the steel structure leading to the Shield being even further handicapped going into the pay-per-view.

Author's take

After seeing SmackDown LIVE's pay-per-view- Hell In a Cell, it'll be interesting to see if Raw can top it with TLC. However giving us a cage match on weekly television featuring Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman is a sure-fire way to pique my interest.
