WWE News: Brock Lesnar re-signs, and will face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Greatest Royal Rumble

Third times the charm?!
Third times the charm?!

Brock Lesnar left WrestleMania 34 with the Universal Championship, and many were wondering how Roman Reigns would manage to recover from such a big loss.

The answer to that question will be given at the Greatest Royal Rumble when Reigns and Lesnar fight for the Universal Championship in a Steel Cage Match.

Many believed that Lesnar was leaving the WWE to resume his MMA career, but the announcement from WWE also said that Lesnar re-signed with the company.

The following is the press release WWE sent out regarding the championship rematch:

STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon announced today that Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has re-signed with WWE. Lesnar’s next appearance is scheduled for the Greatest Royal Rumble event, where he will compete against Roman Reigns in a Steel Cage Match for the Universal Title at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. AST.
The Greatest Royal Rumble will stream live on the award-winning WWE Network with a tune-in time of 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT with a special, one-hour Greatest Royal Rumble Kickoff starting at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT. It will be available on pay-per-view outside of the Middle East with regional broadcast information forthcoming. Tickets for this historic event will be available on Friday, April 13.

Reigns survived five F-5s from Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 but, was defeated after a sixth F-5 from the Champion.

With the company heading to Saudi Arabia for the Greatest Royal Rumble, WWE may be looking to have Reigns win the title later this month in order for Reigns to get a more favorable reaction, but that is pure speculation.

Anticipation for the Greatest Royal Rumble got that much bigger!
